*Tested network connections in office as well as conducted inventory of hardware on-site 7-8-2025:
- Cable Modem: working
- Cisco Firewall: appears to be working but additional research is required to determine accessibility, login info, current configurations, etc.
- Voip Phone System: working intermittently. Phone system appears to be reliant on server and current server issues must be resolved first to determine next steps to ensure Phone System is stable
- Dell Server (Legacy OS) setup as Domain Controller: Attempts to set permanent sharing settings failed as device reverts all manual changes to “file sharing off”. In depth troubleshooting on server recommended to include identifying IP addresses, sharing settings (folders, users, devices, etc.), network configuration settings, and any/all necessary steps to determine if issue can be fixed or if device needs to be replaced
- Two (2) Desktop computers (Legacy OS on both) controlling MEI Easitrax Application: Working after connecting to new router. Temporary resolution was to hard wire all MEI devices directly to new Wi-Fi router, reconfigure IP addresses, test workstations & handheld devices, and confirmed MEI system was working. Current configuration only works on computers connected to Wi-Fi network in office. System had been stable for years while configured with ethernet connectivity to server. Additional research required to determine if system can function as is or if server issues must be resolved first.
*All Computer sent email to MEI/Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) on 7-9-2025 @ 4:38 AM
- Several Printers in office: Additional research required to determine current printer configurations and solution is to resolve current server issue or add printers to network another way.
- TP Link Wi-Fi Router: Installed and setup new router as temporary workaround to MEI connectivity problem. Additional testing and configuration required.
- “Downstairs Network”: Office has two floors. Entire lower floor had connectivity issues. Additional testing required to determine cause of issue and resolution.
- Other devices: Several other devices in office still need to be tested and/or configured to ensure they can access all necessary files, devices, etc. Login info across devices is not consistent and every workstation’s login info needs to be documented. Network settings across all devices are not consistent so all devices need to be tested and configured to ensure they are working as required by business.
*On-site inspection showed significant network connectivity issues across all devices.
*Root cause appears to stem from Dell Server configured as domain controller. Attempts to set permanent sharing settings failed as device reverts all manual changes to “file sharing off”. In-depth troubleshooting on server recommended to determine if issue can be fixed or if device needs to be replaced.
*All workstations in office are running outdated versions of Microsoft Windows. It is recommended that all computers in the office be updated to machines that can run Windows 11 immediately.
*Additional on-site work is recommended.
*5 hours of on-site work completed 7-8-2025 @ $200.00 per hour, $1,000.00 amount due (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM 7-8-2025 on-site work completed, 8 total hours, minus one hour as technician left site for one hour, 7 hours working at location, waive charges for travel and no charge for hours exceeding 5 for the day). Amount due $1,000.00.
